Les FemmesAWARDS

Lamplighter Award given to those fostering the light of truth in a dark world:

To Archbishop Raymond Burke who resigned as Chairman of the board of the Cardinal Glennon Children’s Foundation when they refused to replace pro-abortion Sheryl Crow as headliner at a benefit concert for the medical center. You can read the press release here: We applaud Archbishop Burke’s example of faith in action and ask St. Gianna Berretta Molla who loved her unborn baby enough to die for her to intercede for him.

Millstone Award given to those who through ignorance or malice scandalize God's people:

To Fr. Stephen Privett, S.J., President of the Univ. of San Francisco who let Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi give the commencement address at the USF graduation., and

To Archbishop George Niederauer of San Francisco who accepted an honorary degree at the same USF commencement where Pelosi spoke. By his presence he effectively blessed the scandal. Note the stark contrast between the actions of Archbishop Burke to prevent scandal and those of Archbishop Niederauer giving scandal. Which bishop is a shepherd to his flock? May St. John Neumann, champion of Catholic education, pray for both Fr. Privett and Archbishop Niederauer who demonstrated to the young graduates at USF that Catholic teaching about the dignity of human life and the U.S. bishops’ 2004 ban on pro-abortion speakers, Catholics in Political Life, are completely meaningless to them.
