Les Femmes

FROM THE PRESIDENT'S KITCHEN TABLE

Dear Readers,

I’ve been reflecting on the end times. Jesus described them saying, “Because of the increase of evil, the love of most will grow cold.” Are we there? Certainly, the love of many Catholics seems to be sub zero. According to a recent Pew Survey, most Catholics don’t practice their faith at all or practice cafeteria-style, picking and choosing what to believe. Catholics are more pro-abortion than Evangelicals and Muslims. Fewer than half attend weekly Mass. Of those who do, how many receive Christ in mortal sin ignoring Church teaching on contraception and other moral issues? Cold love indeed! Add to that the increasing virulence, even from within the Church, against those who speak out about serious evils in the culture. Can the persecution be far off?

Recent news items offer serious cause for concern. McDonald’s recently accepted a position on the board of the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC). and contributed $20,000. The group’s purpose is not only to support gay business owners but to advance hate crimes legislation, domestic partner benefits, same-sex marriage, and other special rights for gays. When the American Family Association (AFA) complained, McDonald’s spokesman, Bill Whitman, “jammed” AFA. He told the Washington Post, “'Hatred has no place in our culture,” implying that anyone who opposes the gay agenda does so out of hate, a typical gay strategy to demonize their opponents.

San Francisco ratcheted up the volume a notch last year when the Board of Supervisors passed a resolution attacking the Catholic Church for banning gay adoptions. It read in part, “Such hateful and discriminatory rhetoric is both insulting and callous, and shows a level of insensitivity and ignorance which has seldom been encountered by this Board.” Whew! Catholic doctrine is “hateful rhetoric.” The Thomas More Law Center (TMLC) sued the Board under the first amendment which forbids state hostility to religion. Local district judge, Marilyn Hall Patel, former counsel to NOW, ruled the board’s action was constitutional.

In 16 pages of semantic gibberish she blamed the CDF (Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith) because they “provoked” the debate and “invited entanglement.” In other words, “You Catholics deserve whatever you get for challenging gay adoption.” TMLC is appealing Patel’s ruling to the 9th Circuit. No matter what the court decides, the writing is on the wall. If Catholics and other Christians stand up for moral truth, they will be vilified as ignorant, hate-mongering homophobes. Next step? Criminalization.

Am I fear-mongering? Ask David Parker of Lexington, MA. In 2005 he and his wife fought with the school system trying to protect their two young sons from homosexual indoctrination. The principal told them faculty did not need parental notification to discuss gay issues with children because it was not about sex. (She wasn’t joking.) After numerous contacts, the principal had David Parker arrested because he refused to leave a meeting without assurance that the school would honor his rights as a parent. He was jailed overnight. A civil suit is currently being appealed to the Supreme Court. If the Parkers lose, parents are on notice that schools own their children for six hours a day to brainwash them in any way they choose. Visit MassResistance.org for this incredible story of parents’ rights being violated.

In California two recent laws make homosexual indoctrination in schools mandatory. SB 777 and AB 394 have redefined word definitions in the educational and penal codes of California. For example, gender means “a person’s gender identity and gender related appearance and behavior whether or not stereotypically associated with the person’s assigned sex at birth.” Sounds like gibberish, but basically this says that everyone decides “gender identity” for himself. If a boy feels like a girl, he can use the girl’s restroom. For a school to forbid it would be discrimination based on a “stereotypically associated” custom; same thing if he wants to come to school in a dress, pumps, and makeup. Are you getting the picture?

Gay activists ridicule the idea they are after the kids, but they are liars and con artists. Gays, they say, are born not made, but they know better. At a recent dyke march in Boston, lesbians marched to the chant, “Ten percent is not enough, recruit, recruit, recruit!” i.e., seduce, seduce, seduce. The Vagina Monologues is a recruitment vehicle for lesbianism. Most gay groups seek to eliminate the age of consent because the most effective recruitment technique is child rape. And where is the best place to recruit? Schools. Desensitize kids to the gay lifestyle by constantly talking about it; take advantage of the sexual confusion of adolescents being raised in broken and dysfunctional families by grooming them with homo-friendly sex ed in grammar school and gay/straight clubs in middle and high school. Yes, it is all about taking the children.

In 1987 a gay activist writing under the pseudonym Michael Swift described his “fantasy.” While gays today say it was a spoof, his rant fits with the gay agenda outlined in the 1972 Gay Platform and subsequent events. Swift says, “We shall sodomize your sons [84% of AIDS children are infected by male bi/homosexuals],… we shall seduce them in your schools [check statistics on abuse by gay teachers], …in your youth groups [the gay priest scandals]….All laws banning homosexuality will be revoked [accomplished]. Instead legislation shall be passed which engenders love between men [partially achieved: same-sex marriage, sex ed, SB 777 and AB 394, etc.]…we will make films about the love between heroic men [ongoing: Brokeback Mountain, etc.].…We shall rewrite history [ongoing]….We shall be victorious ….Tremble, hetero swine, when we appear before you without our masks [Folsom Street Fair].”

Are we in the end times? Who knows? Whether the world is nearing its end or not, there is certainly evidence that the U.S. may be. No culture embracing depravity survives for long. The Church Militant must fight as zealously for virtue as the gays are fighting for vice.
