***Gay Ministry Refuses to Vow Fidelity
Oakland Bishop Salvatore Cordileone warned CALGM (Catholic Association of Lesbian and Gay Ministry) in June that unless they take an oath of personal integrity affirming Catholic teaching on homosexuality, they were in danger of being declared “not authentically Catholic.” The bishop, in an April letter to the CALGM board, asked that members publicly affirm that they “strive to clearly present Catholic doctrine on homosexuality in its fullness.” They were also asked to “profess personally to hold and believe and practice all that the holy Catholic church teaches, believes and proclaims to be true, whether from the natural moral law or by way of revelation from God through Scripture and tradition.” Thus far, board members have refused twice to take the oath.

Bishop Cordileone is not alone in his concerns about CALGM. In early 2011, Archbishop John Nienstedt cancelled a fundraising dinner for the ministry being held by board member, Fr. Leo Tibesar, at his Minneapolis parish, St. Frances Cabrini. Fr. Tibesar, who publicly flaunts his support for same-sex “marriage” is an activist for homosexuality with a long connection to dissent. In 2006 he was on the Dignity Leadership Team. Most dioceses in the U.S. have banned Dignity because of its heterodoxy in promoting the gay lifestyle. Fr. Tibesar is currently Director-at-Large on the CALGM board..

***“Queering” Catholic Parishes: CALGM’s History is more than troubling.   It began in 1994 as the National Association of Catholic Diocesan Lesbian and Gay Ministries founded by a homosexual priest and gay activist, Fr. James Schnexnayder. In 1992, Schnexnayder told a Dignity group, “We cannot allow the Religious Right to confine our sexuality to the bedroom ….Our homosexuality must burst forth from the bedroom and leaven all of society." Last year Schnexnayder had a book published called Setting the Table that promotes parish acceptance of homosexuality. Randy Engel, author of The Rite of Sodomy, describes the book as “homosexual agitprop” for “queering Catholic parishes,” something at which Schnexnayder excels. He was one of three gay priests involved in writing the flawed pastoral Always Our Children that distorted Church teaching on homosexuality. Bishop Fabian Bruskewitz of Lincoln, NE had this to say about the document which was released by a committee of the bishops’ conference without being reviewed or approved by the bishops.  The document ... is founded on bad advice, mistaken theology, erroneous science and skewed sociology….It is pastorally helpful in no perceptible way. ... The occasion and the motivation for this document's birth remain hidden in the murky arrangements which brought it forth.... ‘Calamity and frightening disaster’ are terms which are not too excessive to describe this document. It is my view that this document carries no weight or authority for Catholics, whom I would advise to ignore or oppose it.” Now there’s a shepherd who defends the faith!

With regard to Schnexnayder’s book, Engel says it “upholds the ideology of the Homosexual Collective” and “adheres to the strict party line” where “’gay’ is good if not better; ‘gays’ are born that way; coming out is good; all public discourse on homosexuality must be framed in terms of social justice and civil rights, not morality and sexual deviancy; the Catholic Church needs to listen and learn from the ‘lived experience’ of sexual deviants of all persuasions; etc.” Schnexnayder, Engel points out, praises the Stonewall riots, but completely ignores the dark side of homosexuality: the domestic violence, the disease, etc.

***Another Review of Schnexnayder’s    book by Lyle Arnold summarizes the priest’s views and what he wants to see within the parish:

- Parishes should welcome homosexuals. Therefore, priests must educate parishioners to support the homosexual ministry through homilies and encourage workshops for homosexual parishioners. They should also invite homosexuals to share their stories. [I.e. pastors must be cheerleaders for the “gay” lifestyle.]

- Priests should increase parish awareness of gay issues by participating in celebrations, e.g. by “celebrating” Solidarity Sunday on the first weekend of October, allowing homosexual parishioners to pass out rainbow ribbons and prayer cards before and after each Mass. [I.e. replace Respect Life Sunday with Respect Sodomy Sunday.]

- Parishes should open marriage and family support programs to homosexual “couples.” Homosexuals should [be] welcomed into ministries as lectors, Eucharistic ministers, music, RCIA, religious education leaders, and members of the liturgy planning and parish council. [Give their deviance legitimacy and approval.]

***What’s Wrong With This Picture? Exactly what is there to celebrate about a disordered inclination to serious sin? Do we celebrate “Solidarity Sunday” for alcoholics and drug addicts? No! We encourage them to join 12 step programs. And what’s with “rainbow ribbons?” The symbol of God’s promise to Noah is hijacked for “gay pride.” Whenever you see the rainbow linked to “gay ministry” you are being gulled. A “gay” activist designed the rainbow flag as a cheerleading tool for the “gay” lifestyle. Schnexnayder’s  book is part of the same myth-building agenda. He sets the table with rainbow napkins to convince Catholics in the pew that homosexual perversion is normal and, in fact, a civil right requiring special privileges.. Watch out for Setting the Table in your diocese and fight any attempt to “queer” your local Church. [N.B. “Queering the church” is a term used by gay activists.]

***In 1982 Fr. Enrique Rueda Warned what was coming in his bood The Homosexual Network. He clearly saw an agenda that included “queering the Church”  In Chapter 6: “Homosexuality and Religion” Rueda wrote: “Organized religion is not only the social institution to which the greatest number of people belong voluntarily, it is probably the single most influential factor in the evaluation of behavior.” Bingo! Homosexuals want acceptance of their perverted behavior as normal and good. In biblical language, they demand good be called evil and evil good. Those who denounce perversion must be condemned and destroyed; perverted sex acts and same-sex unions must be accepted by society and the Church. So instead of walking away from religious institutions, the homosexual network subverted them, very successfully in fact, as Fr. Rueda demonstrates. And what happened to the prophet blowing the trumpet?

***Bishop Matthew Clark Suspended Him and destroyed his vocation as a diocesan priest. Rueda spent the rest of his life working at secular jobs and serving at SSPX parishes. Meanwhile, Clark continued his career in Rochester promoting homosexuality, women’s ordination, and other liberal issues. Pray for the poor people of Rochester who, thanks to Clark, have few vocations, many fewer Catholic schools, and a diocese riddled with heterodoxy. The next bishop (Clark reached mandatory retirement age in July) will face an uphill struggle to reform the local church scandalized for over thirty years by Bishop Clark. Pray for the intercession of former Bishop of Rochester, Fulton Sheen, that Rochester will receive a faithful and fearless bishop who will begin the process of restoration.

***Cardinal Dolan Needs a Reality Check! What could the Archbishop of New York, Timothy Dolan, possibly be thinking to allow Catholic Charities to invite Barack Obama, champion of child-killing and destroyer of religious liberty to speak at the annual Al Smith dinner in October? The thought of a prince of the Church yucking it up with Obama at the same time the president is attacking the Church and forcing Catholics to pay for abortion and contraception is abhorrent! It is also a serious public scandal that is likely to convince people that Church leaders don’t really believe that unborn babies are equal to the rest of us. Do you, Cardinal Dolan? ***CINO Catholic Politicians: No Lack!  Les Femmes readers are well aware of the long list of CINO (Catholic in Name Only) politicians. But a new one came to the fore recently during the Chick-fil-A flap. His name is Tom Menino and he’s mayor of Boston. Menino  condemned Chick-fil-A head Dan Cathy for daring to support traditional marriage. Menino wants him banned in Boston saying, “Chick-fil-A doesn’t belong in Boston. You can’t have a business in the city of Boston that discriminates against a population. We’re an open city, we’re a city that’s at the forefront of inclusion. One problem - there’s no evidence Cathy discriminates! Menino is the bigot! He threatened to deny Chick-fil-A permits, but backed off later after legal groups pointed out his discrimination is unconstitutional. Menino’s attitude demonstrates two things. One, a lot of folks claiming to be Catholics belong in the Judas club [No surprise there!] and liberals (Menino wasn’t the only one.) are not above using the jackboot to stomp on Christians. So, patriots, be vigilant. Defend your rights or lose them!

***Cardinal George of Chicago challenged  Rahm Emanuel for statements supporting the bigotry of Chicago alderman Joe Moreno who threatened to block construction of a Chick-fil-A in his ward. [These Italians have a Mussolini complex!] The cardinal took particular umbrage at Emanuel’s statement that Cathy’s values are not Chicago’s. George posted this on his diocesan blog:  I was born and raised here, and my understanding of being a Chicagoan never included submitting my value system to the government for approval. Must those whose personal values do not conform to those of the government of the day move from the city? Is the City Council going to set up a “Council Committee on Un-Chicagoan Activities” and call those of us who are suspect to appear before it?” George went on to explain that there is no such thing as “gender free” marriage and to condemn the “bigotry” associated with the “litmus test” requiring approval of “homosexual unions.” He said, “Espousing the understanding of marriage that has prevailed among all peoples throughout human history is now, supposedly, outside the American consensus. Are Americans so exceptional that we are free to define “marriage”… at will? What are we re-defining.?... Marriage existed before Christ called together his first disciples two thousand years ago and well before the United States of America was formed two hundred and thirty six years ago. Neither Church nor state invented marriage, and neither can change its nature. Marriage exists because human nature comes in two complementary sexes: male and female. The sexual union of a man and woman is called the marital act because the two become physically one in a way that is impossible between two men or two women. Whatever a homosexual union might be or represent, it is not physically marital… “gender-free marriage” is a contradiction in terms, like a square circle….The State’s attempting to redefine marriage has become a defining moment not for marriage, which is what it is, but for our increasingly fragile “civil union” as citizens. Amen! Thank you, Cardinal George.

***Battle Lines Forming in San Francisco at the infamous Most Holy Redeemer parish. MHR is a center for scandal with 80% “gay” attendance. The former pastor allowed use of the church hall for transgender beauty pageants, lewd homosexual bingo, and other events featuring stripping and simulated sex. Recently, under new pastor Rev. Brian Costello, drag queens were banned from events held at the parish which caused cancellation of a fundraiser when the “gays” wouldn’t budge on their emcee. The story now is that a new policy bans all non-parish events in any church hall. The archdiocese also denies that incoming bishop, Salvatore Cordileone, to be installed October 4th, had anything to do with the decision. Bishop Cordileone is well-known for his defense of traditional marriage. Dubbed the “Father of Proposition 8,” the California bill upholding marriage between one man and one woman, the bishop earned the ire of the homosexual cabal when he said in a 2009 radio interview, "The ultimate attack of the Evil One is the attack on marriage. If you take marriage apart, everything comes unraveled….It all comes tumbling down." At a conference in May the bishop cited the link between the fight over traditional marriage and religious liberty. “I sort of backed into this religious liberty debate by my involvement with her Siamese twin, the definition of marriage in the law….When I saw what was happening and my eyes were opened, it made me fear that we could be starting to move in the direction of license and despotism.” Pray for Bishop Cordileone as he takes over Sodom by the Sea.
