Les FemmesAWARDS

Lamplighter Award given to those fostering the light of truth in a dark world:

To Denver Archbishop Charles Chaput, who speaks the truth so clearly. [See the Twilight Zone]. May Fr. John Hardon, S.J., a champion of the truth who always taught with both clarity and charity pray for him.

To the Priests of St. Louis in Alexandria, Rev. John Riley, Rev. Paul Richardson, and Rev. Terence Staples, who offered parishioners the sacrament of confession almost every day during Lent. May their zeal and reverence for the sacraments penetrate not only their parish, but the entire diocese. And may St. Paul, that great teacher and example of zealous evangelization, intercede for them.

To the Knights of Columbus, Edward Douglass White Council who cancelled the day of recollection scheduled by CORPUS. [See The Twilight Zone]. It is fitting that the Knights took swift action to stop this event as their charism includes defense of the priesthood and unequivocal loyalty to our Holy Father. May the Blessed Virgin Mary, to whom the Knights are consecrated, channel abundant graces to these faithful warriors.

To Mark Bailey, a faithful son of Mary, who organized a Good Friday all-night prayer vigil at the Falls Church death center, Commonwealth Women’s "Clinic." Business at the center plummeted in the days following the vigil. May St. John the Evangelist, the young apostle, who watched at the foot of the cross with Mary, intercede for this inspiring young man who is at the abortion mill most of the hours it’s open each week.

Millstone Award given to those who through ignorance or malice scandalize God's people:

To Fr. Steve Leva, who helped an unfaithful priest steal another man’s family. St. Mary Magdalen, pray for him.

To Most Rev. Alexander Brunett, Archbishop of Seattle, who allowed feminist dissenters to solicit victims in his diocesan paper. [See Twilight Zone.] May St. Anselm who loved the truth and defended the faith regardless of persecution intercede for Archbishop Brunett.

To organizers of the NCEA Convention, who invited Sr. Joan Chittister, O.S.B. to give the closing address. May that great educator, St. John Bosco, intercede for their devotion to a truly Catholic education.
