AWARDS
Lamplighter
Award given to those fostering the light
of truth in a dark world:
To Philanthropist
Tom Monaghan who donated $200 million in seed money for
Ave Marie University in Naples, FL, the first new major Catholic university
to be established in the U.S. in almost two generations. The school will
be grounded in Catholic truth and plans include a town, also named Ave
Maria, to support it. Fr. Joseph Fession, founder of Ignatius Press, will
serve as Chancellor. The new campus will begin operating as soon as possible,
no later than Fall 2006. An interim campus with the first students will
open in Fall ’03. May Our Lady, Seat of Wisdom bless every step
of this exciting venture.
Millstone Award
given to those who through ignorance or malice scandalize God's
people:
To Bishop Wilton Gregory,
President of the USCCB who is responsible for approving the lay oversight
board for the Office of Child Protection which includes pro-abortion and
pro-homosexual sympathizers, shocking participants in view of the scandals
rocking our Church. May our Blessed Mother, the epitome of purity, intercede
for Bishop Gregory and all souls endangered by shepherds.
